You need to know both Linux and Windows file sharing protocols and utilities to share file between Kali Linux and Windows 10. The process to Share file between Kali Linux and Windows.

Check network connectivity.
Enable Windows File Sharing.
Create a Share folder in Windows.
Configure Kali Linux File Sharing.
Install “cifs-utils” for mounting the shared folder in Linux.
Access Windows shared folder from Linux.

  1. this is why Linux will never be anything but a fringe runner desktop os – windows machines on a network can see shared each others shared folders no problem but Linux can't see crap without doing lots of ridiculous contortions and even then (judging from the comments here) it likely won't work. too bad, a lot of people would leave ms in a heartbeat IF there were a realistic alternative. Linux is NOT a realistic alternative for the overwhelming majority of people.

    E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg –configure -a' to correct the problem.

  3. AS someone from the comments said I keep getting a "Mount error(115): Operation now in progress… Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs)" I get that too can you somehow help? even though this vid is pretty old… i really need help with this

  5. HELP! It shows this when I try to install cifs-utils.

  7. why my kali linux not accepting windows password.
    1.all thing i had done,disable the security from advance sharing option.
    2.off the firewall of window antivirus
    3.Also chkd by removing windows password

    plz help

  8. Thanks for the tutorial, really good. I've noticed the shared folder disappears after a reboot (on Kali), then I have to do mount.cifs again. Is there anyway to make it persistent? Regards.
